More Info
When you arrive on Šolta, there are always regular buses at the port that go to all towns, with the timetable adapted to the arrival and departure of ferries and catamarans.
The island of Šolta is practically across from Split and is one of the lesser known holiday islands in Croatia. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful place to consider for a vacation, especially if the main purpose of the vacation is to relax.
The island can be reached either by ferry or by catamaran from Split, which will take you straight to the town of Rogac, on the west side of the island. If you are traveling without a car, you can use public transport to explore the island.
Bus routes on the island of Šolta:
Since Šolta is a relatively small island, only two bus routes operate there.
- Route 1 – This route leads from the ferry port in Rogac via Grohote, Srednje Selo, Donje Selo to Maslinica. The timetables are adapted to the arrivals of ferries and catamarans, which means that in case of a ferry or catamaran delay, the bus will be in the ferry port, which in turn means that it will not leave on time in the other mentioned places. Since the return trip is on the same bus, you will surely arrive at the ferry port on time.
- Route 2 – This route leads from Rogac to Stomorska on the other end of the island. On the way the bus stops in Grohote, Necujam and Gornje Selo. Here, too, the bus waits for the arrival of the ferries and catamarans.
Prices for buses on the island of Šolta:
Since the buses on the island are operated by the city of Split – Split Promet d.o.o. operates, the prices are calculated according to their general tariff system, which means that a one-way ticket for adults purchased on the bus costs 2 Euro, purchased online or at the vending machine 1 Euro. Children pay a one-way ticket purchased on the bus 1 Euro, purchased online or at the vending machine 0.50 Cent.
Tickets are bought directly from the driver when boarding the bus and can only be paid in Euros. So make sure you have small change with you.
Bus and train stations on the island of Šolta:
Since all places in the city are relatively small, there are no bus stations on Solta, only marked or unmarked bus stops.
- The bus stop in Rogac is at the ferry port, right where the ferries and catamarans arrive. The bus stop is covered, so you can wait there even if it rains.
- In Grohote, the bus stop is at the crossroads of roads leading to Rogac, Maslinica or Stomorska. The place where the bus stops is marked with yellow paint on the road.
- In Maslinica you can find the bus stop right by the sea (Put Sv. Nikole), just a few meters from the entrance to Martinis Marchi Heritage Hotel.
- In Necujam, the bus stop is on the road leading to the main beach; the stop is marked with yellow paint on the road, so you cannot miss it.
- In Stomorska, the bus stop is at the roundabout at the end of the port, which is also the main meeting point of the place.
In other places on the island, the bus always stops on the main road, but as not all stops are marked, it is advisable that you ask one of the locals where to wait for the bus. There may also be alternative stops in the above mentioned towns, again we recommend that you ask one of the local islanders.
From Split airport you should take airport bus. The bus will take you to Split Bus Station (journey time 30 minutes), which is located right next to Split Ferry Port. The price is around 6 euros and it is very convenient and fast. Another albeit more expensive option would be the taxis, which cost around 50 euros.
Alternatively, if none of the departures suit your itinerary, you can book a speedboat from Split Airport. This is quite expensive. However, if you are traveling with a larger group of people, this might also be an option.
From Split port you have either catamaran or car ferry to Rogač.
In Split in the direction of the harbor ferry, well signposted with “Trajekt” in the harbor get in the lane Insel Šolta.

The largest and rugged bay of Šolta consists of eight additional bays and is nestled gently in vineyards and secluded olive groves. In addition to the well-known large bays such as Sumpjivina, Piskera with its beneficial healing mud, Potkamenica and Mala Maslenica, there are many small romantic bays that guarantee seclusion and relaxation.
In Piskera, one of the most hidden bays of Necujam, the Roman Emperor Diocletian stayed regularly in his residence. He also had a fish pond there. Evidence of this is the submerged wall at the entrance to the bay, at a depth of only one meter, so that it can be viewed with bated breath while diving.
Necujam has also inspired the father of Croatian literature, Marko Marulic, who spent a lot of time here and created his masterpieces, inspired by the silence and harmony of this place.
The vacation spot is a dream destination for families and people who are looking for peace and quiet and want to escape from everyday life.
Along the eastern shore, from the bay of Maslinica to almost Cape Rat, the northernmost point of Necujam, there is a promenade of around two kilometers, which invites you to take a leisurely stroll. On the way you will find some restaurants and bars with a direct view of the sea.

After the Necujam sign, continue straight for 2.2 km, then turn right and continue along the sea road for another 1.3 km to the property.

From Necujam BUS stop
From the Necujam bus stop it is about a 20-minute walk to the facility, but not particularly fun with luggage. Should you wish to be picked up directly from the port of Rogac, this is also possible for a fee. But it has to be discussed beforehand.
